FLEX (Flexible Supports)
The FLEX program is designed for students who are able to learn in the general education or resource setting with flexible supports. These flexible supports include accommodations and modifications as well as supports for organization, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Most FLEX students receive direct instruction in social skills in the FLEX classroom. In addition to direct social skills instruction, students may receive scheduled FLEX Support minutes to assist with executive function skill sets as well as social and emotional regulation. Students in this program can have a combination of time in the general education and special education setting, as determined by the ARD committee.
